A Walk Into Abstracts, Volume 3

Two of my pieces, "Balance" and "Tempus Fugit",  have been included in Sue St. John's latest E-book, "A Walk Into Abstracts, Volume 3".

"Inside "A Walk Into Abstracts Volume Three" you will find 51 stunning abstract paintings by 31 artists. All the artists have a picture of their abstract art and their “working process” on how they did the painting from beginning to end. Their materials, techniques, and work sequence. Every working process is provided with one picture of their abstract art painting." ~ Sue St. John

Messengers of the Gods

In Greek mythology, Iris is the goddess of the rainbow and the messenger of the gods. Today, the iris has come to represent faith, hope and wisdom.

You could say the inspiration for this piece came as a message from Iris herself. As I worked out the background on these panels and wondered what they would become, the irises emerged from the chaos and texture in front of me- not just on one panel, but on all three. Who am I to turn down a gift from the gods?

"Bruce's Onions"

"Bruce's Onions"
Mixed Media with Oils on Canvas
24" x 24"
My friend Bruce paints the most beautiful onions. I have admired his onions for years, often wishing I could do justice to them the way he does. Recently I learned that Bruce and I will be in an exhibit together in the spring, so I decided to try my hand at a portrait of this beautiful root vegetable. I'm pleased with the results, but have to say I still like Bruce's onions better....
