American Band Stand

This little piece is an exercise in oil still life painting that I started in a workshop with Elaine Hahn at our studio, Art Trysts. It's an odd assortment of items, thrown together at the last minute. The horn came from a used book store, as did the two poetry books. The Americana box is one I painted years ago to use for pot pourri. Jeckle was a gift from a dear friend (who kept Heckle) and sits by my computer, eyeing my every keystroke and daring me to paint him.
